Snack Time

We've recently added snack time to our evening routine.  I'm fairly certain it's Connor's favorite part of the evening.  A few weeks ago he enjoyed it so much that he ate two helpings of yogurt and Cheerios.  We're used to our good eater but this even surprised us so much we had to document it.  For your viewing pleasure, here's Connor eating a ridiculous amount of yogurt.

And here's the time lapsed version.

Real Men do Housework

Every time Thomas gets the vacuum out, Connor rushes to help.  Here they are tackling some dust bunnies in November.

If you don't speak two-year-old, let me translate the following video: "I'm vacuuming! I'm vacuuming!  I'm vacuuming!  Cheese!"

Zowie!

Update: The video was originally set as private but I fixed it. Sorry!

Connor has a set of Batman jammies that I bought when I bought his Superman jammies.  Every time he wears them I sing him the Batman theme (from the 60's sitcom).  He's recently began singing along with me.  In fact, the Batman theme is the one and only song he can sing.  He calls it "na na na" and likes everyone to get in on the singing.  I took a video of the performance on a recent car trip.  Check it out.

Connor's tricks

I took this video in mid-June (almost caught up to the present).  Thomas was worried our home transition would limit us from documenting Connor as he was in late spring 2011.  Luckily, he performed all his best tricks in this car ride - dancing, pointing out Dada and Mama, animal sounds, and saying "buh bye".

Readin' Blogs

I spent part of Sunday doing our taxes. At one point Connor came to the office and wanted "up!". Instead of going over our net worth, I pulled up some of his friends' blogs. He was instantly enthralled.  Just like Mama, he's a big fan of the blogosphere.   Here he is checking out his friend Ben.

I think he said "Baby Ben" at one point but all his "b" words sound the same these days.

We also visited Lily's family blog. He really loved seeing his friend Lily. I played all her videos. After each one ended he'd say "mo! mo!" and frantically make the sign for "more". He also said "Lily" which was the first time he ever made the "L" sound.  This might be overkill, but we took videos of him watching videos.

BabyRaces

On Saturday we had some friends and their kiddos over for a play date.  It was lots of fun. With ages from just over one year to two years old the kids are just starting to play together.  The highlights of the afternoon were Lily's hopping, Connor stealing everyone's cheese, Elliot's delight at rolling the ball, and Everett's facial expressions.  The kids all seem to have the most fun when they left the toys behind and ran up and down (and up and down and up and down) the hall.

Brothers from another mother

Connor and Smokey have a complicated relationship.  Smokey has some resentment towards Connor because before the baby came he was our only kid.  He used to sleep in our bed and get lots of attention.  Like many family dogs, his life got a little harder after the baby came home.  He now has to sleep in his own room.  And he doesn't get a walk every day.  But Smokey doesn't hate Connor.  In fact, we've been pleasantly surprised of how tolerant he is of his little brother.  Connor may pull his tail but he's also been known to throw him cheese slice or two.  Connor is generally delighted by Smokey but has learned to swat him away when his snacks are in jeopardy.  Their story is a classic tale of brothers.  Full of love, jealousy, friendship, and snacks. I used our new computer and movie software to capture the sweeping drama of the relationship. I recommend watching it in full screen with the speakers on.

I had so much fun putting this together.  I'm loving our MacBook and iMovie.  Now I'm motivated to figure out how to take better videos.
